Hinode, proudly Australian since 2008

HINODE has been a trusted rice brand for more than 70 years.

The California Rice Grower’s Association (RGA) created the HINODE brand in the 1930s. HINODE is still known throughout California, the Pacific Northwest and Hawaii for its premium grade rice and flavorful rice products.
In November 2000, RGA sold its rice mill in Woodland, California and the rights to the HINODE brand to Pacific Basin Rice Products, LLC. After reorganization, Pacific Basin Rice Products, LLC changed its name to Gold River Mills, LLC.
During the worldwide rice export bans of 2008, the Australian owned Ricegrowers Limited, trading as SunRice, purchased a majority share of Gold River Mills and changed the name to Sunfoods, LLC.
Although the ownership and operating names have changed over the years one constant has remained; the strength of the HINODE brand.
SunRice is one of the largest branded food companies in the world. SunRice mills and packs rice, rice flour, rice cakes and rice convenience foods. Together, HINODE and SunRice products feed 40 million people a day in sixty countries.
As a partner with SunRice, HINODE belongs to the global rice community. Rice is an international food. It’s the most important nutritional source for most of the people in the world.
