SunRice chairman Gerry Lawson agreed a "no" vote could have far-reaching implications for the company.
"Growers love SunRice and what it's delivered to them but businesses need capital," Mr Lawson said.
"There's a little group- a group that has been very critical of the sale- that hasn't invested back in SunRice and if they had, we wouldn't be back in this position. No one in the world could touch us."
